    Currently, Fay is expected to remain a minimal tropical storm as it passes along the Gulf coast and makes landfall near our area. CLICK HERE TO SEE CURRENT NHC TRACK.  Weather conditions are expected to deteriorate through the evening hours and into tonight.  Saturday and Sunday will be gusty and rainy.  

    According to the Okaloosa County Emergency Operations Center, (EOC) the greatest threat from TS Fay will be the potential for significant rain and some coastal flooding.  The Mobile Weather Service anticipates a surge of 3-4 feet above the normal 2 foot high tide on Saturday night.  This could mean areas along Gulf Shore Drive prone to flooding may be impacted by the surge.

    Winds are expected to be in the 20-25 mph range with gusts to 40 mph.   
    Rainfall is expected to be in the 8-10 inch range.

    FY 09 Budget Public Hearings Set

    The Destin City Council will hold the public hearings for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2009 Budget on on Monday, September 15th and Monday, September 22nd.  

    Both meetings will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall Annex, 4100 Two Trees Road.  

    The public is invited to attend.
